INTRO: THE BREATHING CREATURE, SACRED BREATH, THE GENTLE
BREEZE:
The first usage of this term is a window into it's true meaning: " And the
Lord,
God, formed man of the dust of the ground BREATHED into his nostrils the BREATH
OF LIFE: and man BECAME A LIVING SOUL ....... Gen. 2:7
Man does not have a soul or live in a body. HE IS A SOUL The Soul's existence
is known to itself as the body and it is one.
In the Garden of Eden we not only have the picture of natural surroundings but
also a metaphor; all symbolizing the state and nature of Adam's soul. It was
likened to a garden of which various trees with their fruit could yield the
knowledge of life. Adam was commanded (the intuitive sense of mind expressing
God (primal, pure, voice, within him) to keep the garden (mind) pure. In
Genesis 2:7 quoted above it states in the Hebrew text "And let man
become a live soul"... meaning KEEP ALIVE THE SOUL YOU'VE BECOME. Adam was
given a word of LIFE.
St. Paul was shown the deeper aspect of this revelation of Adam and of Christ,
and he states this in 1Cor. 15:45 And so it is written, the FIRST man
ADAM WAS MADE A LIVING SOUL; and the LAST ADAM was made a QUICKENING SPIRIT."
95315 Strong's reference: (Hebrew) iiephesh, a breathing creature, animal or
just vitality...# 5314: to breathe, to be breathed upon, refreshed. #5590
Strong's reference (Greek) psuche-psucho #5594-to breathe voluntarily but
gently.
YOUR SOUL IS YOUR LIFE: Man became a LIVING SOUL, the deepest mystery and
perhaps the greatest creation of God is the Soul. This is the unique and
precious gift that gives You the sense and power of your own life. The way we
understand and define our soul will be determined by where your true faith is.
Science defines OUR Soul our existence and all its proclivities in scientific
language. The medical sciences also see OUR lives through the biological
dimension and thus define its existence from that basis. Philosophy adds other
elements to the mix and religion offers its own vein as well. We need to see
AND EXPERIENCE our soul, REVEALED to us through the Holy Spirit of Christ
Jesus.
Who is THE WORD OF GOD.
"...the Soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ez.18:4
Wherefore, as by ONE MAN SIN entered into the world, and DEATH by sin. And so
DEATH PASSED UPON ALL MEN, for that all have sinned." Rom. 5:12
Nevertheless DEATH REIGNED FROM ADAM TO MOSES. Romans 5:14
The covenant God made with Moses was the first step to destroying the last
enemy. Israel was delivered from the House of Bondage and the angel of death
PASSED 0VER the homes of the children of Israel. Israel knew that a promise of
life over death was their inheritance from the Lord. However the story of
Passover also strengthens the hard and bitter fact that the FIRST BIRTH SUFFERS
AND COMES TO AN END.
"...and none can keep alive his own soul..." Ps.22:29 King David prayed
"rescue my soul from destructions." Ps. 35:17 "that seek after my soul to
destroy it..." Ps. 40:14
Unfortunately there are people, places, and things that seek to distract and
take away from truth.
Will you hunt the souls of my people, and will you save the souls alive that
come unto you. Ez.13:18
11 put to shame them that seek after my soul... cause they have digged for my
soul. " Ps.35: 4,7
"To delivers their Soul from DEATH ... Ps. 33:19 " Let him know, that he
which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall SAVE A SOUL FROM
DEATH James 5:20
".... and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your
Souls." Ja. 1:21
".... but of them that believe to the saving of the soul " James 1:21:9
The salvation of the soul Is the mystery of God revealed in Jesus Christ.
Putting on His holy and divine nature is the supernatural task of the Holy
Spirit. "...that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having
ESCAPED THE CORRUPTION (death) that is in the world through Lust." 2Pet.1:4
...receiving the end of your faith the salvation of your soul."
1Pet.1:9
The term MIND and Soul are and shall be used interchangeably throughout this
study. The SOUL can be understood as the MENTAL function of intelligence, will,
and emotions. I am sure there is a large range of psychological terms and
expressions that can describe SOUL. The scriptures themselves reveal the nature
of the soul in a vast record of experiences showing it's different functions of
life.
The soul can amazingly know the base and carnal nature of the body as well as
reach into the highest place of wisdom and knowledge; all takes place In the
SOUL.
The nature of these verses show the life of our Soul: "Bless the Lord, O my
Soul and all that is within me bless his holy name." Bless the Lord, O My Soul,
and forget not his benefits. Ps. 103:1-2 "My Soul thirsteth for God
..." Ps.42:2 "Why are thou cast down, O my Soul...? Ps. 42:5 .......
and thou
hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. " Ps. 86:13 "I speak in the
bitterness of My SOUL..." Job 10:1 "He hath delivered my Soul in peace
..." Ps. 55:18 "Bring my Soul out of prison..." Ps. 142:7 "....
they have bound their soul, shall "Num. 30:9 "knowledge is pleasant unto thy
SOUL Pr. 2:10 "If they return to thee with all their heart and with all
their Soul..." 2Chron. 6:38 "...he shall give delight unto thy Soul...
"Pro. 29: 11 " My Soul doth magnify the Lord.." Luke l:46
