THE REIGN IS COMING: BY PETER DEMETRIS

1 Kings 18:1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

As in the natural so in the spiritual, all truth is parallel. Just as Noah, prophesied of things coming, not yet seen, and as in the day of Elijah who ran ahead of the King and his chariot by the Spirit. There is a prophetic anointing seeing things not yet seen and running ahead to prepare the people of the Living God for a rainstorm of life and immortality. God is ready to do what He has never done before. In the natural world we need rain to keep lands fertile and agriculture healthy, water for drinking and keeping clean. We must have water. Without it we would all dry up and perish. Water is an absolute essential of life. In the Pacific Northwest where I live, our area is known for being wet most of the time. The fact is there is an old song that goes the "grass is a greener green in Seattle," well that's true. The wet seasons we enjoy results in a plush, rich landscape year round, which is why we are called the EVER GREEN state. Along with the beautiful mountain ranges, (great for skiing and snow boarding) rivers, lakes and Puget sound, no wonder we are often thought of as the Switzerland of America. Green is not just the color of money. In the Bible the color green symbolizes LIFE. Rain is a scriptural symbol of God pouring out His Spirit. There was a famine in Israel. The land was dry and the people were suffering because there had been no rain for three and a half years.

1 Kings 18:2 ... And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

There could be many streams of valuable truth to be drawn from this passage; the history and background of the King, his character and conduct in relation to the events of his day and his perception of being a victim of Elijah rather than repentant for his own ways.

It is not the purpose of this article to define the state of government or its relationship with neither the people nor the tensions that must have existed because of the conditions. You can tell that things were very tense by the way King Ahab greeted Elijah after three and a half years.

1Kings 18:17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? 18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.

Elijah knew who the real problem was. King Ahab and his wife Jezebel were idolaters They worshipped man made images of stone, the planets, moon and stars and the meaningless and worthless ideas behind the false gods of strange religions.

1Kings 18:20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

Carmel means Garden land. It was a very ancient city known for being one of the more fruitful spots in Israel and commerce.

The prophets resorted there to meet and worship Jehovah and it was from this high point in the unfolding event that Elijah prayed earnestly for a move from the Lord. God showed him a cloud and the coming of rain. Now at the mount, Elijah would The Reality stand against the idolatry of His Coming Israel and all the false prophets of religion.

1Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. (Opinions: or, thoughts?)

Elijah summed up the problem. The people were stuck between two opinions. They truly did not know what the truth was their silence being evidence of that. His challenge to God's people was this. What is real? What is not? If Baal and all that is associated with Him is true then certainly let us serve him, but if the Lord, then let us serve Him. The God that answers by fire would determine the outcome. In that day it was a choice between Jehovah the living God or Baal the idea of God, which stood behind a false religious practice that was worthless and meaningless. However let us seek to understand this more deeply.

Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil revelation of God and all that He is, and it grows out of that ONE tree at the center of Eden. The other tree represents the only other reality you can choose to live by at the center of life, the knowledge of good and evil.

The two trees at the center of the Garden symbolize for us what is true. The two trees are the two types of men that have come out of Eden. The two men were Adam and the last Adam Christ. The two men represent the two creations, two natures or two states of consciousness, the two covenants, the two births and the two realms of knowledge about life that will either save you or destroy you. There is only one true revelation of God and all He is, and it grows out of that, One tree at the center of Eden. The other tree The only other reality you can choose to live by at the center of life...the knowledge of Good and Evil.

At the heart of the matter is this, Pure (holy) reality and all that is real flows out of only one source. Truth and all that is true flows out of only one place. God and all that is God can only be found in one Light. There are not many gods or ways to understand Him. As citizens of an advanced nation on earth, we have come to believe in the options and choices our success and prosperity have created for the society. All facets of our physical and mental outlook of life improved. This is not to say that there are not great needs throughout the world but I am using our own nation as an example because if you are living here and look out at the society you find there are all kinds of services and helps available education to learn and grow. Creativity, manufacturing, business and commerce, all manner of goods and services that create jobs and give people a hope for the future.

With resources in abundance our current society is ... beginning to synthesize all the good things that have been discovered trough time, from every part of the world and have used it to make our lives better. That is the meaning of; All the trees are good for food. But at the center or I could say at the core of our life there are really only one of two choices we can make. The tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil can be described as the think tank or cesspool (depending on how you look... countless, in fact almost infinite variety of ideas about life, religion, faiths, studies, methods, practices, science and philosophy and mingled much of what it could glean (remember) from the tree of life to produce the multi faceted opinions that exist. But they are all out of the same one source of darkness and death. Let me state that in forbidding Adam to eat of this tree God was not holding back anything from the man. There was no secret knowledge to be gained from the tree of knowledge. God was already his source of all. He had no lack. The state of life in Eden was described as a garden paradise. The world was made to exist in a state of glorious radiance and the description of the outer world he lived in was a reflection of the inner , emotional, mental intellectual state he enjoyed in God. As long as Adam listened (obeyed) the voice of the Lord He was a type of the tree of life. he was a man of knowledge for whom God could bring every creature to see what Adam named (natured) them to be.

Once He ate (experienced) of the tree of knowledge, He was compromised in his heart and mind, the voice of that tree, the knowledge of Good and Evil with all the glory of its natural power, the voice of the adversary became firmly planted within his soul and sin (the nature of disobedience) entered the world by one man. Man had been marked by the beast, he was corrupted, mingled and polluted with a memory of what he had and now a consciousness of something else mingled in as one tree, became unplugged from the source of life (relationship with God). This is not as some would suppose a lost memory of the past or a forgotten aspect of one's pre existence and divine identity. The transgression resulted in a changed state of being. The result is a humanity that is weakened (mortally wounded) through the power of sin. Adam began to die and ultimately did perish.

Genesis 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. The only realm to find the reconnection to that source again is experiencing the tree of life (Christ) Himself.

... to him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Rev.2:7

But, Adam was forced out of the Garden and the tree of life covered over by angelic glory so that no one would be able to find this realm of life without going through the flaming sword of God's word. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim’s, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Since that time and until Christ came (the tree of life revealed again) mans natural state of consciousness derived from the core of his human identity is defined by this duality and mixture of good and evil.

Today, there is a true spiritual move of the Spirit and many are on an exciting journey out of the darkness, mixture, duality and death into the promised hope of life and immortality...the knowledge of the most holy place is being revealed. But because both trees are at the center of the Garden there is a danger to anyone, including those who know they are the called out sons of God. The truth about God and the meaning of life is so mingled, that without the Spirit of truth (Holy Ghost) leading you into all truth, it is virtually impossible to know the truth.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: Knowledge is a function of the mind. That is why many are stumbled by the tree of knowledge. Eve believed the knowledge of the tree was able to make one wise. So she took and ate.

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise...
