TABERNACLE TEACHING: 5 BY PETER DEMETRIS
TABLE OF SHEWBREAD
The dynamics of spiritual life intensify as we enter the tabernacle tent. The
precious metal covering all the furniture indicates a different manifestation
of Christ than previously experienced in the outer court. Gold is now covering
over the wood of the furniture and the light of the golden candlestand shines
upon the table of shewbread and the golden altar of incense. Gold (divine
nature) and not brass. Sockets of shining silver and linen curtains of beauty
and glory above. The perfume of sacred incense created by the apothecary
permeates the room. The Holy place of the tabernacle.
Exodus 25:23 Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be
the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the
height thereof. 24 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto
a crown of gold round about. 25 And thou shalt make unto it a border of an hand
breadth round about, and thou shalt make a golden crown to the border thereof
round about.
The table of shewbread stood on the north side of the tent and was made from
wood and overlaid with gold, symbolizing the nature of God and man joined
together in the table. Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh. The Son of God and
the Son of Man. Two crowns of gold bordered the top of the table with a hand
breadth distance between them. He was crowned with thorns as he bore our sins
and suffered death for us. Now risen from the dead He is crowned with glory
and honor and become the captain of our salvation. The two crowns also
represent the shared victory we inherit through the body of Christ.
Exodus 25:30 And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me always.
The table was made to hold twelve loaves of bread. One for each of the tribes
of Israel. The ingredients and the way it was baked all reflect the perfect
character and nature of Christ. The priests fellowshipped around the table in
the light of the lampstand and ate the bread of His presence. As we eat the
communion of the body of Christ in light of the gospel revelation we also
enjoy the presence of Christ in us as the priests enjoyed fellowship before
the Lord.
Leviticus 24:9 And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in
the holy place:..
THE MEANING OF THE TABLE AND BREAD
The shewbread was for reminding Israel of God’s sacrifice to be present with
them. In the outer court, it is the Lamb of sacrifice we eat. In the holy place
it His bread of presence. When Jesus was upon the earth He was the bread in the
fullness of the Godhead bodily.
John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth
life unto the world.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:
John 6:51 I am the living bread, which came down from heaven: if any man eat of
this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh,
which I will give for the life of the world.
The people stumbled over his sayings about eating His flesh. They did not
understand His words were spirit and life.
John 6:52 Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man
give us his flesh to eat?
John 6:63 ...the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are
life.
The truth of this is that our entire fellowship with God is through Christ who
sacrificed his perfect life so we could receive His substance by the Holy
Spirit. The Lord had a bitter experience and endured a humiliating cup of
suffering so that we now have communion with Him. It is significant, that the
bread of the sanctuary was sprinkled with frankincense so that it had a bitter
taste.
Leviticus 24:7 And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may
be on the bread for a memorial.
1 Corinthians 10:16 The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the
body of Christ? 17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are
all partakers of that one bread.
St. Paul by revelation, taught the meaning of this bread also. The bread is a
memorial of the one sacrificed at the altar and also the presence of that same
one by the power of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered
unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took
bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this
is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
As we discern the nourishment of His Body we partake of divine nature. We share
in his sufferings but are escaping the corruption that is in the world.
The bread of heaven is the spiritual life we renew daily through fellowship,
study and prayer.
The table points to His provision, protection and power. King David said, the
Lord prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies. The daily
provision at King Solomon’s table was so abundant and astounding it took the
spirit and breath away of the visiting Queen of Sheba. Her name meaning the
number of perfection. Jesus said that healing is the children’s bread. The
table had four rings and two staves to carry it through the wilderness as
Israel journeyed.
Exodus 25:26 And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings
in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.
28 And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold,
that the table may be borne with them.
The message of His life is to be carried throughout the creation and in the
coming kingdom as well.
Exodus 25:29 And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and
covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold shalt thou
make them.
Other vessels related to the table were placed between the hand breadth of the
two crowns of gold. Dishes for serving the bread, spoons for incense and
covers, bowls and cups all represent the various ministries of the new
testament church that serves Christ to the world.
Exodus 40:22 And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the
side of the tabernacle northward, without the veil.
23 And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had
commanded Moses.
THE CANDLESTAND:
Exodus 25:31 And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work
shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his
knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.
The light of the holy place was provided by a special lampstand made of pure
gold. Through it’s pipes would flow precious oil to fuel the flame upon the
wicks. The light of the fire of the altar is now seen in the seven branch
lampstand. Jesus said " I am the Light of the world."
Exodus 25:32 six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches
of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick
out of the other side:
Made with a central shaft. Then three branches extended from each side making a
total of seven. Each branch was formed with the fruit of the almond plant in
three stages. The bud (knop), the fruit of the almond (bowl) and flowers of the
almond plant. Three complete sets on each branch and four on the central.
Twenty two sets of ornaments 3 X for a total of sixty six. It is significant
that the total of books in the Old and New covenants is sixty six.
Exodus 25:33 Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in
one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop
and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick. 34 And
in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops
and their flowers. 35 And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same,
and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the
same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick. 36
Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten
work of pure gold. The candlestick was the light of the holy place. All the
ministry, fellowship enjoyed by the priests, nourishment received at the table
were all in the light of the candlestick. The beauty of the interior curtains
could only be seen in this light.
Exodus 25: 37 And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light
the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it.
THE MEANING OF THE CANDLESTICK:
The central shaft of gold represents Christ our life. He is the vine, we are
the branches. He is the anointing oil poured through our vessels producing
light. A beaten work of pure gold points to how Christ was made perfect through
suffering. Now we are also trans formed in Him through the same work of wisdom
and power.
Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all
things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their
salvation perfect through sufferings.
Hebrews 2: 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all
of one: There were no measurements given because Christ and all He accomplished
is unlimited. The revelation knowledge of Christ is unlimited and the ministry
of the Holy Spirit is unlimited and far reaching. There were seven Lamps.
Seven is a number denoting perfection, fullness and completion. Gold is divine
nature. The light of the candlestick ministers divine perfection.
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
Seven is the number that speaks of having the perfect power of the Holy Spirit
and the full understanding of truth to anoint others.
Zechariah 4:2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and
behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven
lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top
thereof:
Zechariah 4:6 ....This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by
might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace
of earth, purified seven times.
The Seven Lamps of the Holy Place also reveal the day of Christ and the Church.
The compartment measuring two thousand cubits spiritually points to the two
thousand year period since Christ came in the flesh, was crucified, resurrected
from the dead and ascended into heaven.
Revelation 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being
turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
Revelation 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the
Son of man, Revelation 1:20 ...and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven
churches.
Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
The three stages of the almond plant show that the fruit of spiritual life
occurs in progressive stages. Salvation is a threefold experience. Israel
celebrated three feasts. The three compartments of the tabernacle and many
others that signify putting on Christ. There were three offices of authority
anointed with oil. Prophets, Priests and Kings. The name Christ is also a term
denoting His divine nature. Christos or anointing. Christ is the anointing
power of the Spirit working in us. Transforming us spirit soul and body.
Producing the nature of prophet, priest and king. The Kingdom of God is
righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
1 John 2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven
1 John 2:13 I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked
one.
1 John 2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from
the beginning.
ALMOND FRUIT:
Salvation is threefold and salvation ready to be revealed is symbolized in the
fruit of the almond plant. During the wilderness journey a rebellion occurred
among the families of priests questioning the authority of Moses and Aaron. It
was agreed to lay up awooden staff or rod representing each tribe in the
tabernacle before the Lord overnight.
Numbers 17:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them
a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according
to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his
rod. 3 And thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod
shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. 4 And thou shalt lay them
up in the tabernacle of the congregation 5 And it shall come to pass, that the
man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom:
In the morning Aaron’s rod had budded the fruit of an almond plant revealing
the choice of God and the hidden power of Christ.
Numbers 17:8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the
tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was
budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
The almond plant is a sign of the resurrection power breaking forth. The
candlestick is the church or called out believers today who enjoy fellowship
with Christ. He is the firstfruits (almond fruit) from the dead. 1 Corinthians
15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them
that slept.
The word is plural because all who are joined to Him receive of His nature and
power. We are being made partakers of his resurrection life now ahead of the
others who are rebelling or complaining etc.
When the prophet Jeremiah was awakened to the Lord and His calling to the
ministry he was shown a vision of an almond plant.
Jeremiah 1:11 the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah,
what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. 12 Then said the
LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
God’s word is power and life. St Paul said that if the spirit that raised up
Christ from the dead dwell in you, then it shall also quicken (hasten) (bring
forth living fruit) your mortal bodies. The power breaking through the limited
dimension of the natural realm and expressing unlimited power of life over
death.
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell
in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal
bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
LIGHT AND LIFE:
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of
life.
1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare
unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Life reveals the power of God and Light expresses the nature of God. He is
Light and Life. In the beginning Jehovah, said, Let there be Light. And there
was Light. And God saw the Light, that it was good. He divided Light from
darkness. The same was in the beginning with God. In him was life; and the life
was the light of men,.... the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh
into the world.
I am the light of the world.
The candlestick was adorned with ornaments of beauty. God has adorned the
church with gifts and fruit of the Spirit. Just as Eliezar, Abraham,’s servant
adorned the future wife of Isaac with ornaments of gold, jewels and precious
stones. When the Holy Spirit is present in the life of a believer, both the
power and beauty of the Lord is evidenced. Christ is the image and nature of
God. His fruit is the substance and source of perpetual life and power.
The listing of spiritual fruit is found in Galatians 5:22,23. Fruit is a
subject Jesus taught about in scripture. Fruit must be planted, nurtured and
brought to maturity and harvest. Once fruit is ripe it drops from the branch to
bring refreshment and life to those who partake of it.
John 15: 8 is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye
be my disciples.
Spiritual fruit yields the juice or life of God. Love, Joy, Peace,
Longsuffering, Gentleness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance.
Christ is the life of God and perfect expression of His power. James 1:17 Every
good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father
of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
In his first epistle to Corinth St. Paul wrote about the various gifts of
spiritual manifestation.
1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have
you ignorant.
The gifts represent the action and life of God through the believer. There were
three gifts of inspiration so we can talk like the Lord. Three gifts of
revelation knowledge so we can think like the Lord. Three gifts of Power to
act like the Lord.
1 Corinthians 12:10 ...to another prophecy...to another divers kinds of
tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
1 Corinthians 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to
another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;...vs 10, ..to another
discerning of spirits;
Corinthians 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of
healing by the same Spirit; ..10 To another the working of miracles;
Exodus 25: 38 And the tongs thereof, and the snuff dishes thereof, shall be of
pure gold.
It was the responsibility of the priest’s to see to it that the Light of the
candlestick never went out. The lamps needed to be trimmed and kept in order by
Aaron each morning. The light was to burn evenly so that often the wicks were
either trimmed or pulled upward to keep the light even. Snuff dishes for the
ashes symbolize the past works of God accomplished through Christ and us.
The oil used for the light of the candlestick was made by the art of the
apothecary. Oil is a type of the Holy Spirit. For a deeper look into the
meaning of the oil and the power of the anointing see the author’s book:
"Mystery of the Divine Apothecary".
THE ARK OF THE COVENANT:
Exodus 25:10 And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half
shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a
cubit and a half the height thereof.
11 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou
overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about.
The only piece of furniture in the holy of holies was named the Ark of the
Covenant. It was constructed from shittim wood and overlayed with gold within
and without. Once again we see the blending of two natures as one. The human
and the divine. The gold, a symbol of Christ’s holy, pure and divine nature is
also covering the interior of the box as well as the external part.
Psalm 51: 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden
part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Ark - "arown" box, chest or coffin. The ark was actually a type of coffin
containing the testimony of the Living God. Inside were placed three unique
memorials of Israel’s history.
Exodus 25:16 And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give
thee.
The tables of commandments given to Moses on the mount. Signifying the mind and
heart of Christ whose word is lively and quick. Just as Moses received God’s
living oracles written in stone, now in the holy of holies God’s word is hidden
within our hearts and mind. It is written, this is the covenant that I will
make with the house of Israel, not like the one I made with them when I took
them out of Egypt. I will write my laws upon the heart and mind. They shall be
my people and I will be their God. (Hebrews 8:10) 2 Corinthians 3:3 ...as ye
are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written
not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone,
but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Jehovah told Moses to lay up a portion in the holy of holies so that future
generations could see what God fed Israel with in the wilderness.
Exodus 16: 32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth,
Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the
bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth
from the land of Egypt.
The manna was like coriander seed and tasted as honey. (I like to think of
manna as a divine sugar wafer) The people of Israel had no idea what it was,
they called it manna, meaning what is it?
Exodus 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another,
It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is
the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
Again the real meaning of the bread was lost to the thinking of natural Israel.
They were not able to see it. It was placed within the box of the covenant and
hidden from view. The manna is the nourishment of God in our lives by the Holy
Spirit. Jesus said I am the bread of life. He that eats this bread shall never
die.
John 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This
is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not
die.
Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto
the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna...
Hidden Manna. Inside the ark. Seated in a heavenly dimension. The food or
diet of those in the third dimension of God’s plan.
Aaron’s rod that budded almond fruit was also placed inside the ark of the
covenant. This third item reveals the power of Christ’s resurrection. The
ministry of this realm is endless life. It is written that the last enemy that
shall be destroyed is death. As in Adam all die, so in Christ all shall be made
alive. Every one in their own order. Christ the firstfruits, then them that are
Christ’s at His coming.
The rod is a symbol of authority. The power and authority of this dimension
shall rule and reign throughout the earth.
Psalm 110:2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou
in the midst of thine enemies.
Revelation 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations
with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
MERCY SEAT:
Exodus 25: 17 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a
half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
The place of mercy serves as a cover, sealing the contents of the ark within.
It was made of pure gold because the mercy of God is pure and everlasting,
coming to us from a heavenly dimension. The lid also represents the seat or
throne from where Jehovah, executes judgment. The blood of the altar sprinkled
upon the mercy seat made atonement for the sins of Israel. On the Day of
Atonement the High priest sprinkled the blood of the sacrifice in behalf of
himself and for all Israel as well. The judgment seat becomes a throne of
mercy granting grace and help in every time of need. Jesus Christ is the mercy
seat of God.
Romans 3:24 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his
blood,
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may
obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the
heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with
better sacrifices than these.
THE CHERUBIM:
Exodus 25:18 And thou shalt make two Cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt
thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.
19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end:
even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
Two heavenly creatures now emerge overshadowing the mercy seat. These angelic
like beings are the symbols of the message, ministry and power of the most
holy place. At the time of the epistle to the Hebrews it is written.....
(Hebrews 9:5) And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the Mercy Seat; of
which we cannot now speak particularly. A deep and glorious mystery is hidden
in the cherub creatures that now stand in view above the mercy seat with wings
of gold touching each other.
Exodus 25:20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high,
covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to
another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.
A traditional and simple concept suggests that the cherub creatures are angels
of a high order. Using the various passages of scripture to show their
appearance as spiritual beings. But the entire tabernacle is about Christ and
the redemption of mankind to God. Every aspect of the form was made to model
the image of the pattern son. The tabernacle was not made to reveal the role of
angels.
Hebrews 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on
him the seed of Abraham. 17 Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made
like unto his brethren,
In fact the epistle of St. Peter reveals that angels have no revelation of the
plan of God.
1 Peter 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us
they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have
preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which
things the angels desire to look into.
Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, .... unto which of the
angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee?
The dispensation of angels was given in relation to the first covenant, first
tabernacle and the first order of creation.
Galatians 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of
transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made ...
and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Acts 7:53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not
kept it.
But the word declares that he has not subjected the world to come to angels.
Hebrews 2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come,
whereof we speak.
The cherubim were a beaten work of gold made out of the one piece of the mercy
seat. They are uniquely joined to the realm of the throne and rulership
principle of Christ and symbolize the divine creatures of the new covenant,
the second tabernacle pointing to the GLORIOUS manifestation of Christ’s
kingdom.
TWO
To grasp more fully the meaning and message of the cherubim let us go back to
the Beginning. Two is a significant number. It is the number that begins
creation. In the Hebrew text the first word of God is Bereshith. The second
letter of the alphabet begins creation. There are two creatures to image the
creator male and female. There are two realms upper and lower. There are two
trees at the center of the garden. It is significant that Cherubim are first
mentioned in the paradise of God assigned to guard the tree of life. A flaming
sword to turn every way. This is the living fire of God’s word anointed from on
high with wings of spiritual power. The term cherub means to fly. They are the
essence of spiritual power and life.
In the book of Ezekiel the cherub symbolism is given to the prophet, while in
captivity in Babylon. As he ponders the opened heaven of his mind and heart he
describes the vision of Cherubim as a fire infolding itself, a whirlwind, a
cloud of amber and brightness and the sight of four living creatures in the
form of a man. Four is the number of creation and the number of the gospels,
which proclaim a new creation.
5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And
this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
The cherub beings are always associated with the throne, the power of life and
the image of man.
The cherubim are seen in the revelation of Jesus Christ. St. John, like
Ezekiel, was in exile on the isle of Patmos, Greece. Seeking the meaning and
purpose for his day was given a vision of how God would reveal Christ in the
world again. Among the many aspects of this powerful vision was the throne
realm of God and the cherub creatures similar to Ezekiel’s vision.
Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto
crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four
beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and
the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying
eagle.
The cherubim are describing the characteristics of Christ. He is the Lion of
the tribe of Judah who has prevailed to open the word of life for us. He is the beast
of burden who carried our infirmities and weaknesses and sacrificed his life upon an altar of wood. He
is the perfect man of love whose face we now look into that we might see the light of the glory of the
knowledge of God. He is the flying bird in an open heaven that we might rise above the natural world
of flesh and be joined in a divine union of love with Christ.
When God created the heavens and the earth it was with the intent to share His
glorious nature with creation as a bride adorned for her husband. So he
created mankind in his image. Male and female created he them in his image and
likeness and called their name Adam.
Genesis 5:1 is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God
created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name
Adam, in the day when they were created.
Jehovah declared the two shall be one. Adam and Eve were the parents of all
living. Their union was sacred, reflecting the mystery of God and mankind.
When the tragic circumstances that forced their rejection and expulsion from
the paradise of God took place, the Lord appointed cherubim to guard and
protect the precious union of Heaven and earth. Now in the Holy of Holies they
represent the reconciliation of heaven and earth through the mercy and blood
sprinkled upon the throne of grace. They symbolize the new parents of life
that will cause life to spring forth again on the earth a second time. The
mystery being revealed through St. Paul in his letter to the Ephesians.
Ephesians 5:31 ....and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery:
but I speak concerning Christ and the church. The message of this throne is a
love story. It is the Song of Songs, from the King of kings, out of the Holy of
Holies. The Song of Songs, which is Solomon's. Let him kiss me with the kisses
of his mouth: I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the
marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels... , and talked
with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10
And he carried me away in the spirit
to a great and high mountain, and shewed
me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, The
day of glorious manifestation is upon us. And the Spirit and the bride say,
"Come." Revelation 19:9 he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which
are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These
are the true sayings of God.
Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen
in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices,
and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Revelation 21:3,4 I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the
tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be
his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for
