ALL JESUS:
The entire structure of the tabernacle reveals Christ Jesus the Lord. He
is the WORD made flesh. St. John said, the Word, became flesh (human
being) and TABERNACLED among us. Each furniture piece represents some
aspect of Christ's own work of redemption for us. Jesus is the sacrifice
of the altar and it is His blood, which is sprinkled upon the mercy seat.
He is the laver or water of the word. He is the 7-fold light of the
candlestick and the holy oil that fuels the flame of revelation
knowledge. He is the bread of presence or shewbread
eaten by us each day for our daily substance. Jesus is the golden altar
of incense. His life was lived as a constant expression offered (incense
must be burned) up to the Father. Ultimately he is to be known as King
of kings and Lord of Lords. He is the Ark of the Covenant...the
connection of heaven with earth. The Ark of the Covenant and all the
parts associated with it symbolize the awesome manifestation of Christ
in Man. The ark is His throne...the movement of
His authority and power through His people so that as you grow in the
spiritual knowledge of the Tabernacle, in reality you are becoming
acquainted with the person of Christ Jesus. In the outer court is the
beginning experience of His love towards you. In the Holy Place,
anointed with oil (baptism of Holy Spirit), experience Christ as never
before in the perfect light of the candlestick and in the nourishing
bread of His presence...and in the offering of prayer, praise, and
intercession. But there is a third
compartment or dimension of Christ to be revealed in the earth. Beyond
the rent veil is another place called the Holy of Holies. As this veil
has remained over the minds of many today there is also a time of
unveiling. The revelation of Christ in the earth will be the consequence
of those who pursue him beyond the veil of flesh into the heavenlies
themselves and are changed Spirit Soul and Body. This is the meaning of
the third dimension and Holy of Holies.
It is significant that Israel also celebrated a third feast each year,
the Feast of Tabernacles. The feast of the seventh month now points the
way to perfection fullness and completeness to be experienced in the
Holy
of Holies the third dimension of God's plan.
THE OUTER COURT:
The outer court is the starting point of redemption and regeneration.
This realm represents the first spiritual experiences with God in Christ. All
of Israel was invited into this court of the Lord. We are also invited
to come. It was fenced with sixty pillars of brass or wood and a linen
curtain was hung upon these by silver hooks. Fine linen in scripture
always points to the righteous nature of God. You could not see over it
nor obtain entry underneath. The only way to enter was at the front
through the gate. It is significant that Jesus said, I am the door and
the way unto eternal life. Entrance beyond the gate brings us into the
outer court which has the brazen altar and brazen laver. Here we
experience the meaning of the sacrifice and of Christ's blood shed for
us. The basic materials of linen,brass/copper and silver also tell us
precious truth about this realm of new life.
The Brass speaks of the
judgment of God that has become tarnished in man.
Silver points to the price of redemption and the linen curtain symbolizes the
righteous nature of Christ freely given to us who believe. This realm is
further brought to light through the deeper meaning and application of the
altar and the laver. This is the power of rebirth and regeneration. Through
the blood and washing of the waters we pass over from death to life and our
SPIRIT is made alive. Hallelujah!
In the outer court, the spirit is made
alive. The body is dead because of sin and the mind is still unrenewed.
This is symbolized by the natural light of the outer court. Still seeing in
the natural light of day. That is what makes our approach unto the entrance to
the Holy Place so dramatic an exciting. We are moving into another realm of
the
same tabernacle yet our experience is going to change. Only the priests were
allowed beyond this point. Anointed with oil they would pass beyond the
curtain
into the...
HOLY PLACE: Every priest was required to be anointed with
oil
at the doorway. This signifies the necessity for spiritual anointing to enter
into Holy Place. The baptism of the Holy Spirit ushers you beyond your first
initial experiences with the Lord into a new dimension. Here we begin to meet
Jesus as Christ. This is the doorway into spiritual life. The duties of the
priesthood involved making the oil for the lamp stand, bread for the table and
incense for the altar. The ingredients used were revealed by the Spirit because
they had to show the quality of Christ's inner nature. It is significant that
Zechariah the priest was standing by the golden altar of incense when
the Angel Gabriel, appeared to him announcing the birth of his son John,
the baptizer. I am sure that the traditions and history of Israel as a people
hold quite a different view than my own when it comes to the tabernacle,
but I am satisfied that all who read these words of life and power will bear
witness to their value and meaning.
This new realm of the tabernacle points
to the day when the Church was born by spiritual renewal. It is significant
that
the dimensions of the Holy Place are 20X10X10=2000 cubits of space. It is
nearly two thousand years since the day of Pentecost and the Holy Spirit
baptized and birthed Christ out of the seed of Israel.
Now each furniture
piece brings insight into this new experience in Christ. The lampstand
symbolizes those times when spiritual light breaks through and truth is
perfectly revealed in an, in-part realm. It radiated light as the oil flowed
into its pipes. This is the oil of spirit poured out into us by baptism of
the Holy Spirit. In the Holy Place we can receive power and deliverance from
bondage to death and traditions, which make the word of God of no-effect.
It is significant that during the administration of Eli the High Priest,
(during the prophet Samuel's young life) the light of the candlestick
went out in the Holy Place. This neglect of the priests and terrible event
only emphasized the deep spiritual blindness that had come upon Israel. There
was no King in Israel. Samuel the prophet was growing up at this time and
would soon become a prophetic link to the ordination day of King David.
We need knowledge revealed by the Holy Spirit in order to grow and
nurture spiritual life. It is not the collection of Bible facts or memory of
the verses. It is the knowledge born of intimate spiritual union and love.
The priests fellowshipped around the table of bread together in light of the
candlestick and ate the bread of presence.
Jesus said I am the
Bread of Life. This bread was also referred to as the bread of presence.
It symbolized God's own presence with us in earth. This is communion.
Jesus
said take eat this is my body which is broken for you. St. Paul said we
being many, are one bread. The table of shewbread also reveals the
greater
plan of God to equip His sons in the likeness of Christ and let their
lives
be bread for the nations to receive health and life from the dead. The
Golden
altar is the place where prayer, intercession and ministry is offered up
as an expression of what the light and bread have given us...an awakened
sense of Christ's presence causing words of prayer, praise and
thanksgiving
to abound. The golden altar is the only aspect of this realm that will
accompany
us further in our journey of change. On the Day of Atonement (the most
holiest
of all days to Israel) the High priest would take the censers with
burning
incense into the Most Holy Place beyond the veil of separation into the
resting place of the ark-of-the-covenant.
This signifies that only that spiritual light and life of Christ in us
can
reach further into the mystery of Sonship and bring us into the Most
Holy
Place. It also reveals the need to go beyond this curtain of separation.
The Holy Place is not the end of our journey. We must put on immortality.
Every aspect of the Holy Place is temporary and artificial. The oil
needs
replenishing and the bread needs to be baked. The incense must be
crushed
and smoothed by the hands of men. But every aspect of the Holy of Holies
is eternal and everlasting. The light forgiveness, and love of God is
without
end. As we enter the Holy of Holies our Spirit is alive and our minds
are
being renewed by the Holy Spirit.
THE HOLY OF HOLIES:
Now in the presence of eternal light (Shekinah) and love we are being
made
perfect. A promise to those who come by a new and living way, we shall
not
all sleep, but we shall all be changed. This mortal must put on
immortality.
The ark-of- the-covenant rests in this dimension revealing the wisdom of
God in man. The wooden box overlaid with gold
within and without signifies the intention of Father God to have sons
born
of heaven and the earth, redeemed, regenerated, returned, renewed, and
revealed
as the sons of God. It is written He is the firstborn among many
brethren.
This third compartment represents the throne realm of God operating in
earth
through His people. St. John was caught up
beyond the veil of flesh into heavenly places and saw the throne and one
who sat upon it like a jasper and sardine stone.
The Holy of
Holies
is also the ministry of the new day. A priesthood after the order of
Melchisedec,
filled with the glory of Christ and expressing the power of resurrection
declaring and revealing the endless age of the kingdom of God. There are
other unique aspects of the tabernacle we should discuss before we enter
the outer court and begin to look at the furniture pieces of each realm
individually and with deeper application. The order, which God revealed
the tabernacle to Moses, was from the inside out. Jehovah, veiled
himself
in the different compartments of the tent. The first piece of furniture
Moses was instructed to make was the ark-of-the-covenant. God veiled the
most intimate part of himself behind a beautiful curtain made of fine
linen,
blue, scarlet and gold with cherubim sown within. Then he continued to
reveal
the different furniture pieces in each part of the tent and court which
are the points of contact through which the priesthood will fellowship
and
experience God in the tabernacle.
The tabernacle tent and
coverings
were placed over boards, his bars and pillars, placed in sockets. The
furniture
was all fitted with rings for staves used to carry them when Israel
journeyed.
All of these materials hold special significance to Christ's
revelation
for us and in us, as well as showing God's nature and plan for the
future.
As we proceed through the compartments of the tabernacle, the spiritual
and hidden meaning of all the materials and each part will be seen. The
following is a list of the materials used in the creation of the
Tabernacle.
Unlock the mystery that has been hid from ages and from generations.
"And
I will give unto thee the keys to the
kingdom of heaven:" In addition to the revelation of the tabernacle
God ordained a High priest and priesthood to officiate at the altar and
other places within the tabernacle. Jehovah commanded Moses to make
garments
for beauty and glory to put on
Aaron and his sons. The garments symbolize the progressive nature of
salvation
and point to the new body and nature we are receiving through Christ.
All
this was shown to him in the mount and is recorded in Exodus chapters
25
through 31.
1Peter 2: 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual
house,
an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God
by Jesus Christ. 1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a
royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises
of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
THE OFFERING: In Exodus, chapter 35 Moses, speaks to the children of
Israel and asks whoever has a willing heart, let him bring it as an
offering
to the Lord. The entire tabernacle, which Jehovah would dwell, was
created
from the materials gathered from the people of Israel. The people of
Israel
willingly gave of their own to this effort. They had been slaves in
Egypt
but they willingly gave of those things the Egyptians bestowed upon them
as they left Egypt. Everyone whose heart was stirred and spirit was made
willing brought the Lord's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the
congregation, for all his service, and for the holy garments. Both men
and
women who were willing gave bracelets, earrings, rings and tablets, and
all jewels of gold. Every man offered an offering of gold unto the Lord.
This points to when the Lord's people shall in the day of Christ's power
become the offering of the Lord, (Psalm 110:3). At one point Moses had
to
command the people to stop giving because they had MORE THAN ENOUGH.
Moses,
received of the people the gold, silver, brass, blue, purple, scarlet,
fine
linen and goats hair for the tent coverings. In addition to ram's skins
dyed red, badgers skins, and shittim wood.
THE WORK OF THE
TABERNACLE:
The tabernacle of Moses was a creative work anointed by the Spirit of
God.
It was to be constructed by wise- hearted men under the scrutiny and
instruction
of Bezaleel and His assistant Aholiab. God revealed to Moses that
Bezaleel,
the son of Uri the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah was called and
filled
with the spirit of God in wisdom and understanding and in knowledge and
in all manner of cunning work. A name in scripture
denotes nature. The nature of God was at work in those who prepared the
tabernacle. Bezaleel and Aholiab reveal the special nature of the Holy
Spirit
at work in this day to raise up the tabernacle of the Lord upon the
earth.
Bezaleel = "in the shadow (i.e. protection) of God" 1) son of
Uri and grandson of Hur; a skilled Judahite artisan in
all works of metal, wood, and stone and one of the architects of the
tabernacle
Uri "fiery" 1) a prince of Judah, a son of Hur Aholiab =
"Father's
tent" 1) chief assistant of Bezaleel in construction of the
tabernacle
Ahisamach = "my brother is support (has supported)" These
were characteristics required of all the workers of the tabernacle.1-
submitted
to Bezaleel 2-divine wisdom 3-worked willingly (not for wage)
4-built according to pattern revealed (no plans of their own) 5-Received
from Moses all the necessary materials (as we receive from Christ) 6-
Brought
the work to Moses for his approval 7-Blessed by Moses for obedience. St.
Paul, experienced the special grace and power of the Holy Spirit
necessary
to build upon the foundation of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given
unto me,
as a wise master-builder, I have laid the foundation, and another
buildeth
thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
2 Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers together with him,
1 Corinthians 3:
9 For we are laborers together with God:
Now we are also being builded together and joined as one habitation for
the Holy Spirit to dwell in. Ephesians 2: 20 And are built upon
the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being
the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed
together
groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded
together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. It was in this
mystery of God and man together, the Logos or Word of God became flesh and
dwelt
among us.
Mary was anointed by revelation knowledge through the angel
Gabriel.
Having received this power and message from heaven, conceived in her womb to
bring forth Christ into the world. 1Timothy3:16 And without
controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh,
justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed
on
in the world, received up into glory.
John 1:1 In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
