God is attentive to the groaning of His people. When God communed with
Moses at the burning bush He said: I have seen the affliction of my people
which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to
deliver them. And now come, I will send you into Egypt. (Acts 7:34)
We ourselves have taken up the cry of the present age and God has prepared
us and is preparing us as the response. We do not have any doubt that
we have been sent into the world to assist in bringing a people out of
bondage even while the Lord has empowered us to deliver our own souls.
It is both the cry and the prayer of the age.
Romans 8:19,21
The earnest expectation of the creation waits
for the manifestation of the sons of God...because the creature itself
also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious
liberty of the children of God.
The problems are immense and we live in a time when the pressures and
distractions of life are great. For many it is a time of confusion and
they view the future with uncertainty. The way before us is clear for
we can see that throughout the ages the consistent response to the cry
of the people is the preaching of the Gospel and a revival by the Spirit.
Anointed teaching has provided strength, direction, and deliverance. Above
all we are confident that the vision and message that we have received
by the Spirit will provide the answer. In the brief history of our own
country every time the people have called out for justice, for deliverance,
for equity, for help or for mercy - and after the government did what
it could or what it would - we saw revival.
I grew up in the 60's when a great cry arose for deliverance and the
leading of God. The Born-again movement and the Charismatic Revival of
the 70's followed that cry. One hundred and fifty years ago the cry for
equity and freedom was followed in the 1880's and 90's by some of the
greatest revival preachers in America. At the time when the ills of the
industrial revolution were being experienced, the Azusa Street revival
emerged at the turn of the century. This prompted the time of the tent
revivals, increased evangelism, and the Latter Day Rain movement.
In this day we are called and appointed for the manifestation of the
sons of God. We are called to put on Christ. We have one goal - which
is a work of transformation. Whosoever we can reach with the message will
be changed. We have a vision pertaining to the manifest glory of God in
a living people. That vision engenders responsibility for to whom much
is given much is required, but responsibility is not a burden. We are
called to be the evidence of God's plan for the ages. We are being transformed
by our faith in the finished work of Christ. As many as are led by the
Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (Romans 8:14)
Ezekiel had a vision of wheels. The wheels that he saw had the living
Spirit within them. Wherever the Spirit went, there the wheels went. If
the Spirit stood still, the wheels stood still. If the Spirit ascended
from the earth into the heavens, the wheels rose up close behind. The
Spirit was in those wheels, and the Spirit moved the wheels. (Ezekiel
1:19-21) The soul (heart, mind, and strength) is like those wheels. Now
we are increasingly motivated by the intention of the Spirit and we are
proving what is that good and perfect and acceptable will of God.
I've been a believer for 28 years - I've been led of the Spirit. I've
seen others who have been led in various ways by the Spirit. But I have
not seen the manifestation of the Sons of God. So we gather together -
establishing the way by which we must go. We have a vision and a commission
by the Spirit, and the spirit is continually empowering the vision. In
the process it produces in us the correct faith and the correct understanding
for the present day. Jesus dwells in us. We are hidden in Him. When He
shall appear we shall appear with Him in glory. When we see Him we shall
be like Him for we shall see Him as He is. He is expressed through our
lives. We are joined to Him in His death and resurrection. We are raised
with Him and seated with Him in heavenly places. We are assisted and encouraged
because the calling of the Lord is extremely powerful, enabling our souls
to follow freely without being forced.
John 17:21-23 - "My prayer for all of them is that they will be
one, just as you and I are one, Father-- that just as you are in me and
I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent
me. I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one,
as we are one. I in them and you in me, they all being perfected into
one. Then the world will know that you sent me and will understand that
you love them as much as you love me.
We need to become fully aware of what we have received from the Lord.
We have become a temple of the Holy Spirit. We have received the power
for change and transformation. We are the generation with the greatest
understanding of the manifestation of the sons of God - since the time
of the apostles. We are receiving the wisdom and the power to put on Christ.
We are obtaining what Jesus Christ intended.
1 Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast,
unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch, as you
know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Romans 8:14 - As many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons
of God.
